Toby is a professional pianist, composer and arranger with over 15 years of experience. He teaches students of all ages and levels across a variety of genres, bringing his skills in classical, jazz, pop, musical theatre and more to the table.

Toby has completed all the classical piano grades and graduated from the University of Birmingham with a first-class degree in music. Now a prolific performer, he has played in various jazz ensembles such as the Birmingham Jazz Orchestra and Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra, as well as leading his own trio and quintet in venues across the country. Aside from jazz, he has performed in orchestras, professional musical theatre pit bands, pop groups, and function bands.

He has studied through a Yamaha Music School, ABRSM examinations, undergraduate degree studies, and under teachers such as Jonathan Silk and Gareth Lockrane. He uses his wealth of experience in many different settings to provide a holistic and engaging teaching style that can be easily tailored to each student.

Toby believes in the importance of fun and varied learning. He works with his students to find music that inspires them and then helps them find the process of how to reach those goals. Every student is unique, so he adapts his lessons to suit their learning style. Toby is dedicated to helping everyone find and realise their passion for music!
