Meet the Tutors
Beginner or Advanced
All guitar lessons are completely personalised and tailored to that particular student’s learning style, musical preference and goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner or your going for that big audition, we can work with you. As Progress is Birmingham’s only Trinity Rock and Pop exam venue, then you can choose to work toward one of the official exam grades and take the exam right here! Grade books are available from Progress for customers.
Not everyone chooses grades though, so we will work with you generally to achieve your goals in whichever way you like. Guitar lessons will include a certain amount of musical theory and note reading too but again this can be adjusted to suit.
Online Guitar Lessons
Our Guitar lessons are available in person at our Birmingham studios, or you can now take an online guitar lesson from the safety and comfort of your own home. Our online guitar lessons are conducted via Zoom.

Experienced Guitar Teachers
Your progress will be constantly monitored by your tutor and Progress Music Academy and will be adjusted and tweaked along the way to tailor you with the most appropriate learning pattern.
All equipment will be provided by Progress Music Academy, although Guitarists are usually expected to bring their own Guitars. We can provide a Guitar for you with prior notice.
Performance Opportunities
With an on-site live room/music venue, we hold regular Guitar showcases, group sessions, rehearsals and some students get selected to perform at our large annual showcase event! Last years event was a 3-day, sold out event at Birmingham’s Crescent Theatre!
Practice Space
Use our dedicated app to keep track of all your lesson content, notes, videos and homework. Our app enables you to ‘take your lesson home’ and achieve targetted practice. You can even add your own practice notes and videos to review during your next lesson!
